Fairchild Semiconductor has a new line of high-performancesmall-outline-package optocouplers. The SO-8 small outlinepackage configuration has a 69% smaller footprint than 8-pin dualinline package configurations, and it is ideal for applicationswhere small component size is crucial. The high performancecharacteristics of the three product lines include a high-speedtransistor output, a high-speed logic gate output, and ahigh-gain transistor output for use in a range of applicationsincluding telecommunications, computers and peripherals, industrial controls, and consumer electronics.
The HCPL-0452,HCPL-0500 and HCPL-0501 high-speed optocouplers feature a 1Mbit/stransmission rate and a transistor output.
The HCPL-0500 has amaximum propagation delay time (TPHL/TPLH) of 1.5/1.5us, and theHCPL-0452 and HCPL-0501 have a maximum propagation delay time(TPHL/TPLH) of 0.8/0.8us, but the HCPL-0452 base is notconnected.
The HCPL-0600 and HCPL-0601 high-speed optocouplersfeature a 10Mbit/s transmission rate, a logic gate output and amaximum propagation delay time (TPHL/TPLH) of 75/75ns.
TheHCPL-0700 high-gain optocoupler features a current transfer ratio(CTR) range from 300 to 2600% and the HCPL-0701 features acurrent transfer ratio (CTR) range from 500 to 2600% (bothmeasured at 1.6mA IF).
