‘Optocoupler’

An Electronicstalk guide

Start with the news release I2C isolator for automotive and HEV applications from Analog Devices, which we summarised at the time by saying "Analog Devices is introducing automotive-grade products to provide true bidirectional isolation for the lower-cost I2C serial bus.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Controller suits PoE power-device applications from Maxim Integrated Products: "Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX5974, a high-frequency, current-mode PWM controller for applications including Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) power devices such as IP phones and IP cameras.".

In July 2010, we covered the news from Avago Technologies - take a look at Avago announces FO short-link transmitter/receiver which says: "The 10MBd HFBR-3810Z fibre-optic (FO) short-link transmitter/receiver from Avago Technologies isolates frequency inverter and power converter applications common in renewable energy installations. ".

Take a look also at the news release from Power Integrations, LED driver ICs for solid-state lighting tasks, as well as Tool provides insulation voltage in wind turbines from Avago Technologies, and ISOdriver isolated gate drivers support 5kV from Silicon Laboratories.
