Esmertec is placing a stronger emphasis and focus on the development and marketing of its embedded software products, and has reorganised the product and R and D departments

Esmertec is placing a stronger emphasis and focus on the development and marketing of its embedded software products, and has reorganised the product and R and D departments accordingly. Esmertec's recently established mobile operator division is not affected by the reorganisation and continues to operate independently.

The new product department will be structured along the four product lines of embedded mobile, interactive multimedia solutions, end-to-end mobile solutions, and mobile advertising.

Each product line has full responsibility for the product lifecycle management from product innovation, research and development, product strategy and roadmap definition to product delivery to customers.

Georges Boulloy, Chief Marketing Officer, will head and drive the strategy and the operations of the new product organisation, and says: 'In a short time, Esmertec has become a leading provider of Java virtual machine software for mobile phones with best-in-class technology'.

'The reorganisation is to enable us to deploy solutions that cater to the future demands of the market'.

'We want to be able to focus our strengths on establishing a comprehensive portfolio of applications and software solutions aimed at increasing the interactivity and personalisation for consumers'.

Having successfully achieved her primary goals for Esmertec as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Anne-Marie Larkin has decided to seek new career challenges.

Larkin has served as Esmertec's CTO since the beginning of 2004 and has been key in driving Esmertec to a technological leadership position in the embedded Java space.

In addition, she significantly contributed to Esmertec's successful public listing.

Larkin's departure is effective at the end of June 2006.

Esmertec's cofounders, Dr Beat Heeb and Dr Daniel Diez, have also decided to pursue other opportunities and areas in their career development.

Both of them will leave at the end of June 2006, but will remain technology consultants and advisors to Esmertec.

Alain Blancquart, Chairman and CEO of Esmertec comments: 'We regret that Anne-Marie, Beat and Daniel have decided to leave Esmertec'.

'Beat and Daniel have both been the cornerstones of Esmertec since the beginning'.

'We understand their desire as inventors for new challenges and would like to wish them success in their new endeavours'.

'Anne-Marie, with her strong leadership and commitment to excellence, has contributed significantly in an important phase of Esmertec's growth, and we want to thank her for her dedication and achievements, and wish her success in her next challenge'.
