Three new system management products match a range of requirements from low-cost multipoint power and temperature monitoring to full AdvancedTCA dual-redundant shelf management
Elma Electronic has released three system management products, matched to a range of requirements from low-cost multipoint power and temperature monitoring, through integrated fan/temperature control, to full AdvancedTCA/PICMG 3.0 dual-redundant shelf management. Depending on model, support is offered for VME, VME64X, cPCI and ATCA architectures.

For advanced cPCI and ATCA applications, the shelf manager card combines a versatile interface card with a mezzanine Pigeon Point ShMM-300 shelf manager to provide proven monitoring and control.
Available as a plug-in board or for wired installation, connectivity includes dual redundant and buffered IPMB, dual 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet interfaces, serial and high-speed serial peripheral interfaces, and I2C bus, together with PICMG 2.9 and 3.0 compliant software.
As well as managing e-keyed and conventionally keyed cards, plus IPMI-compliant hot swap FRUs, the shelf manager provides comprehensive off-shelf facilities, including PICMG 3.0 Remote Management Control Protocol (RMCP), web browser and SNMP interfaces, as well as telco relay contacts.
A comprehensive range of alarms, monitors, logging and logging filters is included, together with automatic switchover where dual shelf managers are fitted for maximum availability.
For budget applications, Elma also offers the Sysmon ECO card, which provides a convenient and low-cost direct-mount card only 100 x 19mm, in versions to suit VME, VME64X and cPCI.
Although primarily intended to monitor system power voltages, the status LEDs may be switched to monitor temperature, for example.
The Sysmon ECO Plus adds a three-zone temperature monitor and fan-control module in a 104 x 38mm card that is supplied complete with wired plug-in sensors, and suits any 12V fan type.
ACFail or SysReset signals are also available.
Existing Elma midrange system monitor products are expected to be expanded with additional cPCI and VME64x offerings, intended to provide a convenient combination of I2C and analogue sensing, with multiple fan control, Ethernet and RS232 interfaces, and a range of options and user configurable facilities.
