The V-MOLE provides a fast, easy and very affordable way to both verify and specify thermal profiles.

ECD is using the Nepcon South China Shenzhen introduction of a new product in its line of thermal profiling products.

Designed to complement both board profilers such as the 20-channel MegaMOLE20 and the industry standard SuperMOLE Gold, and oven profilers such as OvenRider and OvenWatch, the V-MOLE provides a fast, easy and very affordable way to both verify and specify thermal profiles.

Among thermal profilers, unique to the V-MOLE and MegaMOLE20 is the ability for an engineer to predefine the profile go/no-go criteria, while the production operator verifies with the push of a button.

The "OK button", first introduced in the MegaMOLE20, gives one-touch profile verification with a clear green (go) or red (no-go) signal right on the profiler.

In addition, operators are given warnings on battery, core temperature and TC connectivity to eliminate wasted runs.

This true technology improvement should prove ideal for production environments needing to ensure ongoing quality, while maximising product throughput.

One of the problems encountered with high-volume runs is the repeated profiling of the same prototype PCB to assure that target profiles are met.

The V-MOLE enables greatly simplified verification of a target profile through strategic placement of a minimal number of thermocouples.

This saves time in TC attachment, and cost in TC replacement.

V-MOLE is powered by ECD's MAP software, which will also process data from nonECD profilers/data loggers.

Given ECD product quality and robust software, V-MOLE accuracy is never sacrificed, yet savings abound.

Its affordability for multiple lines: "readiness" indicators, the rechargeable lithium polymer battery: "OK button", Target-10 software, and TC placement guide, all contribute to higher quality, greater throughput and true low cost of ownership.
