The ESM-2740 is the latest SOM-ETX module from Evalue Technology. The new module is based on the Intel 855GME chipset, featuring the newly enhanced Intel Extreme Graphics 2 controller that supports Intel DVMT 2.0 and up to 64Mbyte VGA memory for optimal graphics performance. Apart from supporting CRT/LVDS displays, the ESM-2740 also features NTSC/Pal TV-out function with an onboard Chrontel 7011 chipset.
To satisfy demanding graphics processing, the ESM-2740 can support up to 1Gbyte DDR 333 SDRAM with one SODIMM socket.
The ESM-2740 can support a wide range of Intel processors based on 0.13um and 90nm process technologies.
These include high performance Intel Pentium M up to 2.0GHz and cost-effective Intel Celeron M processors from 600MHz to 1.5GHz.
Additional features include multiple I/O interfaces such as four Ultra DMA100 Enhanced IDE interfaces, four USB 2.0 ports, 5.1 channel audio, 10/100Mbit/s LAN, two TTL serial and parallel ports.
The chipsets and processors are covered by the Intel 'Embedded Intel Architecture Division' (EID) product roadmap.
Intel EID warrants long-time product supply lifetime up to 5 years and higher system reliability.
The ESM-2740 is available for shipping.
Targeted markets include medical automation, gaming, POS, mobile computing and transportation.
The ETX CPU board measures 114 x 95mm and offers the fastest time to market solution for OEM customers.
The board works as an embedded plug-on module and can be placed on any ETX baseboard tailored to the customer's specific needs.
Because the baseboard is designed separately from the ETX CPU module, it can easily be developed into any form factor with any required functionality within the shortest possible time-frame.
The solution-oriented baseboard can be designed by the customers themselves or by employing Evalue's baseboard prototyping services that deliver three engineering samples in 30 days.
