The ESM-2640 is an ETX core module powered an Intel Mobile Pentium III-M or Celeron-M processor with up to 133MHz FSB, requiring no CPU fan. It supports up to 512Mbyte SDRAM and integrates CRT/LCD, LVDS, Fast Ethernet and audio functions. This CPU module can work with various ETX carrier boards, and serves in various applications with great flexibility in terms of system functionality and configuration.

The ESM-2640 introduces a cutting-edge ETX (Embedded Technology Extended) technology that can effectively shorten development time by up to 60% for OEM/ODM clients.

This ETX CPU board acts as an embedded plug-on module and can be placed on a customised baseboard tailored to any customer's specific needs.

As the baseboard is designed simply and separately from the ETX CPU module, it has the potential to drastically reduce custom product development time to just 30 days.

The ESM-2640 features a Via VT8606 chipset and supports up to 512Mbyte SDRAM on a single 144-pin SODIMM socket.

Its integrated 2D/3D AGP4X video controller is enhanced with LVDS, DFP (digital flat panel) and CRT outputs.

An integrated AC97 2.1 controller and codec provides excellent audio quality, and the onboard 10/100Base-TX Ethernet and Ultra ATA-100 EIDE controllers support fast data transfer rates.

Four USB, two serial, and one shared, selectable parallel/floppy port round out the basic board.

ETX modules are extremely adaptable, and can be used on a variety of standard and custom configurations.

By virtue of the interchangeability and scalability of both the ESM-2640 and the baseboard, the ETX module provides the fastest time-to-market solutions for embedded applications.

The ESM-2640 addresses embedded requirements for the medical, automotive, transportation, gaming, Internet, and test and measurement markets.
