Module simplifies application-specific SBC design
Evalue's SOM-ETX (system-on-module) product line is a series of complete CPU system modules that can be mounted onto any easily designed application-specific carrier boards
These ready-to-use SOM modules integrate all aspects of PC functionality with a variety of platforms and CPU options, all within a very small 100 x 114mm area. Applying SOM products to Evalue's 30-day baseboard prototyping service enables designers to deliver products to their customers in 30 days.

The ESM-2440 is an ultrasmall SOM-ETX CPU module that integrates almost full PC functionality, including a low-power NS Geode GX1-300MHz processor, LCD interface, a 144-pin SODIMM socket that supports up to 256Mbyte SDRAM, AC97 Audio, and three bus master PCI interfaces.
In addition, the ESM-2440 supports an IDE channel, an FDD interface, two serial 16C550 equivalent TTL serial ports, one multimode parallel port, and two USB ports interface.
As all the core components are included within the SOM-ETX module, system integrators can focus on customer-specific baseboard development independent of the dynamic nature of CPU and chipset evolution.
This will reduce the time and cost of research and development up to 60% and ensure an extended product life span of the baseboard.
