Dynex Semiconductor announces the release of a new family of high-voltage fast-recovery diode (FRD) modules for use in applications including traction, industrial motor drives, induction heating and power generation. The modules complement the existing range of IGBT modules manufactured by Dynex. The new DFM range includes single and dual diodes rated at both 1.8 and 3.3kV.

The 1.8 kV variants include single diodes in an L footprint package (106 x 62mm) with ratings of 300 and 600A, and dual diodes in an F footprint package (130 x 140mm) with ratings of 600, 900 and 1200A per diode.

The 3.3kV variants include single diodes on the L footprint (62 x 106mm) and P footprint (140 x 73mm), both with ratings of 400A, or dual diodes on an N footprint (130 x 140mm) with ratings of 400, 800 and 1200A per diode.

All DFM fast-recovery diode modules use aluminium nitride substrates and metal matrix baseplates for improved thermal cycling capability and minimum thermal resistance.

The modules are rated to 6000V isolation.
