The Gene-6350 subcompact board boasts outstanding performance, low power consumption, flexibility and high-quality multimedia capability

Leading UK distributor and system integrator Display Solutions has announced the availability of Aaeon's Gene-6350 subcompact board. Driven by the requirements of the automotive and embedded computing markets this 5.75 x 4in board offers outstanding performance, low power consumption, flexibility and high-quality multimedia capability.

The fitting of an Intel Ultra Low Voltage Celeron 400/650MHz processor is responsible for the outstanding performance combined with the low power consumption of this board.

This fast processor is supported by up to 512Kbyte PC100/133MHz RAM, opening the door to many demanding applications.

Despite being the size of a floppy disc the Gene-6350 has the multimedia capability normally to be found in a much bigger board.

A superior Via VT8606-based chipset has been added supporting a host of integrated features, such as the onboard 2D/3D graphics accelerator.

The Gene-6350 can now offer high-resolution display quality, supporting 18/36bit TTL or LVDS LCD/TV out.

The model also has dual-display capability.

High-quality AC97 2.1 audio is integrated with ports for audio MIC in, line in and line out/speaker out.

The Gene-6350 can be expanded using the PCI slot, the PC/104 socket, and the two Type II PCMCIA slots.

A host of connectivity options are integrated on the board; dual 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet, four USB ports, four RS232 (one programmable to RS232/422/485), one parallel port and an IrDA port.

The superior performance, low power consumption and connectivity facilities integrated on this tiny board makes the Gene-6350 suitable for many mobile applications including road, rail and marine.

It is also highly suitable for embedded applications requiring a cost effective, low profile, subcompact sized, low noise solution.

This includes home automation, kiosk, point of information, POS, Internet gateway, VPN or mini server.

The SBC is designed and built to conform to all applicable standards.

Full support is provided for this product.
