Small device provides simple ZigBee connections
Digi International's ZigBee/802.15.4 device provides easy, cost-effective IP connectivity to wireless ZigBee networks where access to an Ethernet or Wi-Fi infrastructure exists.
Digi International has released the ConnectPort X2, a wireless gateway about the size of a deck of cards that links ZigBee/802.15.4 device networks with IP networks over Wi-Fi or Ethernet connections.
The single-function ConnectPort X2 is available in two configurations (ZigBee-to-Wi-Fi or ZigBee-to-Ethernet) and provides easy, cost-effective IP connectivity to wireless ZigBee networks where access to an Ethernet or Wi-Fi infrastructure exists.
Larry Kraft, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, Digi International said "We have a complete range of gateways, from basic to multifunction with connectivity options including Ethernet, Wi-Fi, USB, serial and cellular".
The ConnectPort X2 is suitable for connecting endpoints to applications residing on a local Ethernet or Wi-Fi network or where the application can be reached by using existing network infrastructure once the ZigBee/802.15.4 data traffic is converted to IP.
Like all ConnectPort X models, the ConnectPort X2 features a native Python engine for programmability.
Python is an object-based, open-source programming language for developing customised controlling applications and can be adopted and applied by both embedded developers and web developers.
The ConnectPort X2 also includes the Digi Connectware Manager network management platform, which provides a one-to-many interface for network configuration and maintenance.
