When combined with DEK Interactiv support services, Instinctiv provides a broadband connection to DEK's globally networked helpdesk.
Touch-sensitive controls instantly open voice communications with trained DEK support staff at any time of day or night.
If required, DEK engineers can use the connection to take control of the machine and perform troubleshooting, setup or other tasks, or demonstrate help tips.
The broadband link also allows the user to download multimedia files, such as video tutorials demonstrating complex procedures, from the DEK knowledge base available online to DEK Interactiv subscribers.
DEK Interactiv also includes proactive services, such as machine analysis reports, automatic service scheduling and process tuning, all carried out remotely using Instinctiv as the portal to the machine as well as the medium to present the results to the operator.
Support for Wi-Fi wireless networking allows the machine to connect to DEK Interactiv without requiring new network cabling on the shop-floor.
Further benefits include prompts and alerts delivered to the user's desktop PC or pager, or using the GSM SMS service.
The user can then access the machine remotely if required, to take remedial action.
All communications are protected by the latest Internet security measures, including Wireless Encryption Protocol, firewall protection and IP Security.
The Instinctiv user interface will be introduced early in 2003 on the new Micron-class Galaxy machine as well as Typhoon-class platforms beginning with Infinity.
