DED has announced a new printer from Eltron that is capable of producing extremely high quality and durable cards ideal for applications in harsh environments. The P520 printer's all metal enclosure incorporates an ultra-quiet, fast print engine, and a heavy duty Lx4 laminator, which ensures the cards remain flat, in line with ISO specifications. Faster than any other printer produced by the company, it is also highly reliable and has a host of extra features, but still maintains simplicity in operation.

Producing laminated ISO flat cards at a rate of up to 125 cards per hour, which have an expected life of up to 7 years, the printer can also print and laminate both sides of a card for a dual sided application.

A dual process system is also utilised whereby as one card is being printed, another one is being laminated.

The lamination process means the cards are even able to resist certain chemicals.

In addition to the ordinary flat cards, both smart and magnetic cards can also be laminated.

Additional features include automatic ribbon and laminate synchronisation, an inline cleaning cartridge and a card reject hopper for incorrectly encoded cards.

An operator control panel and LCD display complete the picture, with control buttons giving easy access to menu options.

For continuous production of cards it is possible to open the card feeder cover during operation.

With a wide variety of different applications possible, the prime areas are for Security ID cards, time and attendance cards, asset tagging cards for harsh environments and any other high usage applications.

Both CE and UL approved, all Eltron printers have recently been updated with a new print engine.
