The DV6597 is a 160 x 105 dot array LCD capable of showing 13 lines of 26 characters in the same physical space as a standard 64 x 128 dot equivalent

Getting a quart into a pint pot has always been considered impossible, but Densitron's engineers have managed it by providing a display with more than 13 lines of text in a 2.9in package. The DV6597 is a 160 x 105 dot array LCD capable of showing 13 lines of 26 characters in the same physical space as a standard 64 x 128 dot equivalent.

The view area is a generous 63 x 39mm, and the onboard controller offers a wide variety of functions, including software contrast control, bit-map programming and power saving partial display functions.

As a standard unit, the display measures 78 x 70mm, but this can be semicustomised on a user definable PCB to measure just 65 x 47mm depending on volume requirements.

Illumination is achieved via optional EL and LED backlighting, along with Densitron's innovative Silverback reflector technology which doubles its viewability in all lighting conditions.

The DV6597 can be programmed via an 8bit parallel or serial bus and its miserly power consumption of approximately 2mW makes it ideal for use in handheld as well as desktop applications.
