Concurrent Computer Corp and Experimental Design and Analysis Solutions (EDAS) are working together to deliver real-time vibration testing and analysis solutions

Application software will run on Concurrent iHawk multiprocessing systems powered by the RedHawk real-time Linux operating system. Under the terms of the agreement, Concurrent and EDAS will co-operatively market, sell and support EDAS' real-time dynamic data monitoring and processing software with Concurrent's iHawk Linux systems.

Concurrent's partnership with EDAS is structured to respond to worldwide, data acquisition market needs relating to the real-time testing and analysis of vibration data.

As a recognised leader in the development of test protocols for the turbine engine industry, EDAS optimises product verification testing and provides acquisition and monitoring of vibration data for experimental design and analysis.

In addition to data acquisition, the EDAS product suite includes GageMapII, a user-friendly software tool that simplifies interaction with finite element models and provides model verification and analysis functionality, and DatWizardII, a user-friendly analysis tool that performs screening analysis of large volumes of test data.

The overall suite of tools provides customers with the capability to plan tests, validate analytical models, acquire data, screen data and perform detailed analysis of test data using design models.

EDAS customers include industry leaders such as Boeing, Bosch, General Electric Aircraft Engines, NASA, Pratt and Whitney, Rolls Royce, Siemens Westinghouse, US Air Force, and the US Navy.

The iHawk is Concurrent's high-performance, multiprocessor computer platform based on the Intel Xeon CPU.

At the heart of the iHawk is Concurrent's RedHawk Linux operating system, compatible with the popular Red Hat Linux distribution.

RedHawk's real-time kernel provides enhanced real-time determinism and I/O throughput for high-performance data acquisition applications.

"We are delighted to provide a cost-effective, COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf), PCI-based data acquisition and vibration analysis tool for our customers in aerospace and automotive industries", said Ken Jackson, Vice President of Business Development.

"Partnering with EDAS offers a great contribution to our overall data acquisition market strategy".

"Concurrent offers the ideal platform for our software products.

We're excited about the opportunities that this partnership presents", said Dr Kurt Nichol, EDAS President.

"Our customers will be the big winners".
