CrystalQ has added wafer reclaim services to its sapphire substrate product range.

CrystalQ has added wafer reclaim services to its sapphire substrate product range.

"High-brightness LED and laser-diode manufacturing companies clearly require this kind of wafer reclaim services since the impact on reducing working capital and substrate costs is obvious, particularly for larger and nonstandard substrate diameters", said Joris Barendregt, CrystalQ's General Manager.

"CrystalQ's expertise in refined polishing processes offers our customers the opportunity to recycle sapphire substrates several times".

CrystalQ has developed an efficient wafer reclaim process resulting in short delivery times and minimum substrate material removal.

The level of GaN growth into the sapphire and the liftoff technique govern the thickness of the final reclaimed wafer.

"With our recycling services we are able to reproduce the demanding surface specifications that meet our superior quality standards", said Pepijn Fluks, Marketing and Sales Manager at CrystalQ.

"We reclaim both substrates with a thin epitaxial layer and substrates that remain after liftoff".

In order to facilitate multiple reclaim runs, CrystalQ also offers thicker substrates to its customers.
