Communication Machinery Corp (CMC) has signed a nonexclusive global reseller agreement with Ixia, a leading provider of high performance IP network testing solutions. This relationship extends CMC's global distribution network for its EmulationEngine XT Family of Wi-Fi test systems and allows Ixia to capitalise on the proven technology and market leadership delivered by CMC for 802.11 and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) testing solutions. Under the agreement, Ixia's global sales force, reseller partners, and distribution channels will market and sell CMC's full line of Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) enabled multistation test solutions.
'This relationship is a win for our customers and the market'.
'Both CMC and Ixia support companies which are involved in developing complex, security enabled, 802.11 products and enterprise grade wireless networks; their efforts demand sophisticated, specialised tools', said Dave Swan, CEO of Communication Machinery Corp.
'Our expertise and market-leading 802.11 and wireless LAN test products combined with Ixia's well-established IP network test solutions facilitate and speed the development and deployment of the latest network technologies, globally'.
Since their introduction in 2003, CMC's solutions have rapidly become the de facto standard for performance testing of the powerful, standards-based, interoperable security technology for 802.11 products and wireless networks.
The company's EmulationEngine XT products have been adopted by a majority of wireless network equipment manufacturers, service providers, and many Fortune 500 enterprises deploying wireless LANs, including Boeing, Motorola, T-Mobile and Extreme Networks.
CMC's solutions provide full support for 802.1x authentication, Radius, EAP-TLS, TKIP, MIC and WPA-Personal preshared key mode.
The EE-WPA, a core member of CMC's EmulationEngine XT Family, is the world's only system to deliver true 802.11 product and wireless network performance and capacity stress testing with multiple WPA- enabled stations and complete 802.1x authentication.
'Our customers depend on Ixia to provide the world's best test systems that ensure high performance and reliable network operation', said Chris Buerger, Product Manager at Ixia.
'Combining the CMC EmulationEngine Family of 802.11 test systems with our product portfolio of industry-leading traffic generation tools such as IxChariot provides a complete solution for open-air WLAN testing to equipment manufacturers, wireless ISPs and carriers as well as system integrators deploying WLAN networks worldwide'.
Through this agreement network equipment manufacturers, service providers, and enterprises will have access to state-of-the-art solutions for design, deployment, and support of both wired and 802.11 wireless LANs.
CMC's EE-WPA test systems work seamlessly with IxChariot, mapping each of the EE-WPA's 802.11 stations (vSTA) to an IxChariot traffic profile.
With this combination, the performance of the WLAN device and network to support multiple 802.11 users sending VoIP, Internet and enterprise application traffic can be easily ascertained using industry-standard measurements such as throughput, response time and VoIP mean opinion scores (MOS) in a controllable, open-air test environment.
The EmulationEngine products will be supported by Ixia and CMC ensuring that customers will have complete and immediate access to trained support engineers.
