A new range of single output power supplies designed specifically for use in medical applications offers 57% more power than previous models of their size

Condor has a new range of single output power supplies designed specifically for use in medical applications. Called the GSM11 series, the new units are housed in an industry standard 57.9 x 50.8 x 17.8mm package and, at 11W, they offer 57% more power than previous models of this size. They will also deliver 15W (114% more) for 1min.

According to Condor, this increase in power comes with a 25% reduction in cost when compared with existing 7W models.

Condor has designed the GSM11 to meet the requirements of the RoHS Directive if required and can make it available with Class II inputs if the application demands.

Models can operate from a wide 85 to 264V AC input range producing a full 11W at 0 to 50C with convection cooling.

Higher operating temperatures up to 70C are possible if normal derating rules are applied.

Available outputs are 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24V as standard but Condor can supply any voltage between 5 and 24V as required.

The new power supplies are available with two styles of round or square pin connectors or screw terminal block connection allowing nine possible input/output combinations.

All models feature overvoltage and short circuit protection as standard.

GSM11 series supplies are fully approved to UL/EN/IEC60601-1, CSA22.2 No 601 and UL/EN/IEC/CSA60950-1.

They also meet the requirements of EN55011 level B conducted and level A radiated.

Medical applications for which these new supplies are ideally suited include small single board computers (SBCs), battery charging and powering small motors, pumps and solenoids.
