Contax is offering the latest Universal Instruments Advantisx placement machines.

The Advantisx is available as a single or dual beam system and offers throughput of up to 57,000 cph per module, with high pick PPM and final product yield.

The Advantisx is a fully modular system and is suited to mid-volume, high-mix production environments.

It is based on Universal's Genesis platform and uses VRM (variable reluctance motor) linear drives with closed-loop, direct drive positioning.

This gives accuracy to 1um resolution and acceleration to 2.5G.

Fewer moving parts ensure minimal maintenance and adjustments.

The Advantisx range offers the option of Universal's Lightning head.

The Advantisx can achieve speeds of 61,300cph.

It offers a component range of between 01005 and 30mm2.

Alternatives include the Inline7 head, an all-round performer that quickly and accurately places components from 0201 up to 55mm2 and 25mm tall, or the Inline4.

Universal's Magellan digital optics provide wide field-of-view and high resolution on every component type.

The system is easy to use with efficient feeder anywhere technology, reduced changeover and standby time, icon-based Windows interfaces and platform and line flexibility.
