Broadcast developer Commsonic has launched the DVB-T2 modulator to coincide with the company's 10th anniversary.

The DVB-T2 modulator has been designed to keep size to a minimum while maintaining good functionality.

It is designed for a post-ASO (analogue switch off) environment where DVB-T services are already well established.

The DVB-T2 standard has been implemented to give more robust television reception and increase capacitors by more than 30 per cent for single transmitters (as in the UK).

It is also expected to increase the maximum bit rate by more than 50 per cent in large single-frequency networks (such as in Germany and Spain).

Commsonic will showcase the DVB-T2 at the IBC exhibition in Amsterdam on 10-14 September 2010.
