Kailath joins the hall of fame
Clear Shape Technologies cofounder Dr Thomas Kailath will be inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame on Friday 24th February 2006
Clear Shape Technologies cofounder Dr Thomas Kailath will be inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council (SVEC) Hall of Fame on Friday 24th February 2006. In addition to serving on Clear Shape's board of directors, Dr Kailath is also a Hitachi America Professor of Engineering Emeritus at Stanford University.

He has pioneered lithography simulation and resolution enhancement technology (RET) techniques, including alternating phase shifting for subwavelength lithography and how these manufacturing discontinuities must be accounted for on the design side.
Dr Kailath has cofounded several successful high-technology companies, including Integrated Systems, which merged with WindRiver Systems, Numerical Technologies, later acquired by Synopsys, and Excess Bandwidth Corporation, now part of Conexant Systems.
'Every year, SVEC recognises a select few Silicon Valley engineers for outstanding professional achievements in engineering and technology, and for significant contributions to the community', said Sam Haddad, SVEC Hall of Fame Board Chairman.

The SVEC is a nonprofit educational organisation founded in 1989, and serves as the umbrella organisation for all the engineering societies in Silicon Valley and the Greater Bay Area.
Its purpose is to assist its member engineering and technical societies to better serve the community.
Past recipients of the SVEC Hall of Fame award include Gordon Moore, William Hewlett, David Packard and Steve Wozniak.
The SVEC Engineering Week Banquet will be held at the Hyatt Hotel in Santa Clara, California on Friday 24th February 2006 at 1730 local time.
