7 Layers selected the MINT RF tester to increase its on-site laboratory capabilities to prove the conformance of cellular mobile terminals to international specifications and global certification requirements. 7 layers UK is member of the international 7 layers group for the wireless communications industry, with a network of InterLab test and service centres.
Cetecom Spain has installed the validated MINT RF conformance tester at 7 layers UK featuring quad-band (850/900/1800/1900) GSM/GPRS/Edge/AMR testing capabilities.
This platform is one of the three validated platforms for radio frequency testing according to the GCF and PTCRB criteria and it is being supplied to enhance the service portfolio that 7 layers UK is offering.
Andres Moreno, Telecommunications Director at Cetecom Spain said: '7 layers is one of the leading engineering and test service providers within the mobile communications industry, and being selected by 7 layers UK as test system supplier confirms that our product is being positioned as one of the best options for conformance testing'.

'7 layers UK's experience is very high and they have a deep understanding of what the mobile market needs'.
'To select a profitable test tool is not an easy task; several factors such as test time, maintenance costs, technical capabilities and equipment price make the decision a complicated one, and we are sure that MINT is the best solution currently available in the market'.
Laurence Richardson, Managing Director at 7 layers UK commented: 'Working with Cetecom Spain on the selection of the test system has been a pleasing experience for us from the very first contact to the delivery of the test system on time'.
Following market demands, the 7 layers group regards the MINT as a useful addition to its extensive global range of test equipment from various vendors.
The MINT can be easily adapted to the InterLab system for fast and efficient testing, with which the 7 layers group organises the international coordination of its test laboratories.
'The MINT test system adds exactly what 7 layers UK wanted', Richardson explains.
'It expands both our overall capacity to provide test time as well as extending the range of frequency bands and tests that can be performed'.
'A true quad-band solution, it means that we can test in both bands of interest for PTCRB certification (850/1900MHz) as well as both bands for GCF certification (900/1800MHz) on this equipment'.
'We are now operating the test system 24 hours per day, 7 days a week in the UK and anticipate that we might further extend the installed capabilities of the MINT in the available modular method in the near future'.
