Ruggedised SATA cable assemblies are available in both standard and non-PVC configurations.

Carr Manufacturing Company (CMC) can now supply ruggedised SATA cable assemblies in standard and non-PVC configurations.

Today's systems need to be specifically designed to reliably operate in increasingly harsh environments and conditions such as strong vibrations, extreme temperatures and wet or dusty conditions.

Rugged systems are designed from inception for the type of rough use typified by these conditions; commercially available, off-the-shelf Serial ATA cables make poor interconnects for these types of systems.

CMC's ruggedised SATA cables are specifically designed for vehicle mounted environments where vibrations and jolts inherent in the application would cause failures.

CMC's non-PVC SATA cables are ideal for military and aerospace applications where PVC outgassing may cause issues.

CMC's non-PVC SATA cables are made from a soft, flexible, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).

TPE is superior to PVC in these applications and offers increased resistance to heat aging, weather and ozone.
