A new range of highly integrated single-output isolated convertors features output currents of 6A and output voltages down to 1.8V

C and D Technologies has launched a range of highly integrated single-output, isolated convertors with output currents of 6A and output voltages down to 1.8V. Available in three different, industry standard pin patterns, the NPX20 series delivers high levels of flexibility and functionality to new designs and provides 'drop-in' replacement options to existing designs that need to evolve to higher currents and lower voltages.

C and D's NPX20 DC/DC surface mount and through hole convertors will suit a wide variety of industrial, telecommunication, and other applications using components that require low voltage inputs.

The series offers a choice of two wide input voltage ranges - nominal 24V input devices can accommodate voltages from 18 to 36V, and the nominal 48V input parts are compatible with voltages between 36 and 75V.

Output voltage options are 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3V in both cases.

The rated output current of 6.0A results in output powers ranging from 10.8 to 19.8W.

The NPX20 DC/DC convertors are based on a synchronous rectifier technology and are designed to meet the requirements of UL60950.

All of the devices have input-to-output isolation of 1500V DC and incorporate high levels of integrated functionality including overvoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature protection.

Each of the new convertors is capable of operating to zero load.

A remote on/off pin and an output trim function that allows adjustment of the output voltage by +/-10% further simplifies circuit design and reduces the need for external components.

NPX20 convertors can be supplied in surface mount and through hole package styles depending on the specific application requirements.

Surface mount parts have dimensions of 51.2 x 25.7 x 8.5mm and through hole alternatives measure 50.4 x 25.6 x 6.0mm.

The NPX20 DC/DC convertors have unit pricing of under $24.00 In OEM quantities.
