Lower profile for dual-output convertors
C and D Technologies (NCL) has expanded its family of miniature, board-mounting DC/DC convertors with the launch of the industry's lowest profile, dual-output isolated 3W parts
Ideal for height-constrained applications including rack-mounted industrial and telecommunications PCBs, the new NDT isolated 3W dual-output DC/DC convertors are supplied in a low-profile 24-pin DIL package with a board mounting height of just 7mm. The DIL package conforms to an industry standard 32.26 x 14.66mm footprint that allows the new convertors to be used in existing applications as well as new designs.

Available with nominal input voltage ratings of 24 or 48V, the new NDT convertors offer the designer a wide 2:1 input capability that allows them to handle voltage ranges of 18-36 or 48-75V, respectively.
Output voltage options are 12 or 15V for each nominal input voltage.
In all cases isolation between the input and outputs is rated at 1kV DC.
Offering a power density of 0.90W/cm3, the new NDT DC/DC convertors are capable of delivering their full 3W output power at temperatures up to 85C without the need for a heatsink or other additional cooling.
A flyback oscillator design with isolated feedback is used to give regulation over the full operating range of 25 to 100% of full load.
Load and line regulation are rated at less than 1% on the positive output.
All members of the NDT family are supplied in fully encapsulated, UL94V0-compliant packaging and feature an internal SMD construction that uses multilayer ceramic capacitors to ensure maximum operating life.
The full operating temperature range for the devices is -40 to +85C.
NDT DC/DC convertors have unit pricing of under $10 in OEM quantities.
As well as standard 'off-the-shelf' parts, C and D Technologies (NCL) can also offer custom solutions based on the NDT technology.
