Pulse transformers shrink power applications
A new series of space-saving general-purpose pulse transformers offers inductance values to 10mH and isolation ratings of 1kV RMS
C and D Technologies has expanded its family of magnetic productsfor power applications with a series of space saving,general-purpose pulse transformers offering inductance values to10mH and isolation ratings of 1kV RMS. Featuring five differentwinding configurations, the C and D Technologies 786 seriestransformers are available in surface mount and through-holeversions and are ideal for applications such as line coupling,matching and isolation.

The devices can also be used in smallisolated power supplies and as common-mode chokes in filteringapplications.
The new transformers offer minimum primaryinductance values of between 100uH and 10mH and all employ atoroidal construction.
Winding configuration options are 1:1,1:1:1, 2:1.
1CT:1 and 1CT:1CT, while DC resistance values rangefrom 0.17 to 1.34ohm.
Fully encapsulated using UL94V0 materials,the new transformers have dimensions of 9.52 x 8.89 x 6.35mm forDIL package options and 12.70 x 8.89 x 6.35mm in the case of thesurface mount parts.
Operating temperature for the 786 series isspecified as 0 to 70C.
Pricing for transformers in the 786 seriesis under $0.90 per device in OEM quantities.
