The PremierViewPro-AV is a new high performance, extremely flexible image scaler from Calibre that is designed specifically for use in projection, AV and home theatre applications

To be launched at NAB in Las Vegas from 19th to 22nd of April 2004, PremierViewPro-AV allows pixellated display devices to be run at their optimal resolution whatever the input image source. It is therefore ideal for applications such as driving LCD, DILA, DLP and LCOS projectors. It also improves the image quality and flexibility of very large, flat-panel plasma and LCD displays.

Calibre's PremierViewPro-AV range features best-in-class image and scaling quality from video or graphics sources.

Video image stability and motion performance are outstanding with motion compensated video processing and flicker reduction based around the award winning Faroudja DCDi de-interlacer and video enhancement processor.

Many standard output resolution formats are user selectable to suit most common projectors and displays.

User configuration of full custom output timings is also possible to allow configuration to the "sweet-spot" of specific projection devices.

Colour temperature and gamma correction use 10bit per colour pixel processing to alleviate grey-scale contouring and improve image rendition.

The output image may also be zoomed and panned to select a particular area of interest for display.

In addition, image flip left/right and inversion are provided to correct the image orientation in rear projection applications.

Horizontal keystone correction can also be applied to adjust for image distortion caused by projector tilt.

The output format can be set to "video frame lock" mode where it will automatically switch between 50 and 60Hz, depending on the input signal type.

This automatically optimises the motion performance of the display device and allows it to be on-camera in live TV situations.

VGA analogue and DVI digital format outputs can be used simultaneously so that one output can drive a projector while the other runs a local monitor for applications where the projection screen is not visible from where the scaler is situated.

System control is by a front panel LCD menu controlled via an easy to use jog-wheel or through an intuitive Windows application connected via a normal RS232 serial port.
