Aspex Technology has selected Cadence solutions to help it meet the market demand for scalable, fully software-programmable processors that deliver high performance with low power consumption

Aspex will deploy Cadence products under a two-year agreement covering every element of its design flow, from initial design to simulation and verification. Using technology from the Cadence Encounter digital IC design platform, Aspex will be able to quickly produce a silicon virtual prototype with detailed wiring that provides an accurate view of timing and removes significant risk from project schedules.

For its hierarchical physical verification and high-accuracy extraction for nanometer designs, Aspex relies on Cadence Assura.

Additionally, Aspex will deploy Cadence Incisive functional verification, as well as the Cadence analogue/ mixed-signal solution.

Launched in November 2002, Aspex Technology's first integrated device, Linedancer, is targeted at applications that process in parallel large amounts of data, (such as image processing/generation, cellular infrastructure, secure networks, free text transposition and professional broadcast video).

"As we develop Linedancer, we need a strong design partner to provide us with an integrated tool flow, coupled with the technology leadership and support necessary to grow our company", said Paul Greenfield, CEO, Aspex Technology.

"The Cadence integrated, platform approach will speed our time to market and allow us to increase our lead over the competition while minimising risk".

"Aspex is a company built on innovation", said Guillaume d'Eyssautier, Cadence Vice President and General Manager for Europe.

"We are pleased to deliver the solutions and support that will assist Aspex's next stage of growth, working via a business model that meets its needs.

This is a prime example of how Cadence is helping the innovators of today become the leaders of tomorrow".
