The WLI-T1-S11G wireless Ethernet convertor plugs into any standard Ethernet port on an adapter, hub or switch and converts this to a standard IEEE802.11b wireless LAN connection

Using this device, any computer system, console or embedded system can easily be connected to a wireless LAN, including PC or Macintosh computers, X-box, Playstation-2 and equipment such as printers, data loggers, tills and POS terminals. Buffalo's new WLI-T1-S11G is easily configured over the wireless link - no software installation is required on the computer to which it is attached.

This is particularly attractive to users of Macintosh computers, as no specific drivers are required - the device simply plugs into a correctly configured Ethernet port.

Similarly any console such as an X-box that can be given an appropriate IP address can be wirelessly networked with this product.

The WLI-T1-S11G uses the industry standard IEEE802.11b (wireless LAN standard protocol), ARIB STD-T66/RCR, and is compliant with STD-33 (low-powered data transmission).

It uses the standard direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) method, operating in half duplex.

Like other IEEE802.11b products, it operates in the unlicensed frequency band, 2.412-2.462MHz with11 channels and speeds up to 11Mbit/s (Automatically derating with poor signal strength).

Range varies with environmental conditions, but is typically up to 60m indoors and 150m outdoors.

The WLI-T1-S11G is supplied complete with AC adapter, manual and warranty card and configuration software on CD for Windows (95 /98 /ME /2000 /XP/NT4.0).
