System combines the durability of five-wire resistive technology with flexible offerings to meet the specific requirements of a wide range of applications.

The Bergquist Company is launching its five-wire resistive touchscreens onto the European market, following last year's successful introduction of these products to the American market.

These touchscreens are available in a wide range of sizes and aspect ratios; a variety of shielding options can be applied to them for protection against EMI, RFI and ESD.

The Bergquist system combines the durability of five-wire resistive technology with flexible offerings to meet the specific requirements of a wide range of applications.

Options include a large range of sizes from 3.5 to 23in, slim perimeters, off aspect ratio sizes, chemical strengthened glass and other alternatives, as well as a variety of top film and a large selection of connectors.

The design and conception of touchscreens of various dimensions and configurations, which were previously precluded by technology or technique, is set to become much easier as touchscreen dimensions are no longer determined by standard sizes.

By offering some of the slimmest perimeters in the industry, the five-wire touchscreen design from Bergquist readily fits any application and takes up less space.

This allows developers to convert easily from four- and eight-wire into five-wire, whether it is a new design or retrofit.

A comprehensive kit is available to help designers evaluate the features and benefits of the Bergquist five-wire touch system products.

The kit includes a five-wire touchscreen, a five-wire controller board, software and device drivers, an RS232 connector cable, a USB connector cable, five-wire touchscreen connector cable, jumper extension cable, power supply (RS232 use only) and relevant instructions.
