The optical spectrum analysis module (OSAM)with switching input monitors optical power levels in DWDMsystems.
This module combines three levels of opticalfunctionality on a single silicon chip (switching, demultiplexingand detecting) and is capable of analysing over 400 channels atup to 40Gbit/s.
The module demonstrates the extent to which theASOC platform can allow integration of multiple functionality.Giorgio Anania, President and CEO, Bookham Technology said'We believe there will be a large market for DWDM monitoringproducts and we are well positioned to support this area.
Thecompany is committing substantial resources to enhance the rangeof optical functionality from the ASOC platform.
