A strategic partnership aims to accelerate development schedules and reduce time to market for products based on AMCC's PowerPC embedded processors and networking solutions

Applied Micro Circuits Corp and Beijing UD Technology Company have formed a strategic partnership that will accelerate customers' development schedules and reduce time to market for products based on AMCC's PowerPC embedded processors and networking solutions. The partnership will encourage continued development of leading edge products by offering customers cost-effective evaluation kits and reference designs.

Under this partnership, UDTech will develop low cost evaluation kits for various AMCC processors.

AMCC will provide these kits to customers worldwide, enabling them to quickly complete their processor evaluations and progress smoothly to the early phases of hardware and software development.

UDTech will also develop reference designs for AMCC, targeted at specific end-market applications served by AMCC's processor solutions.

These turnkey designs will include comprehensive hardware platforms, with design packages available so that customers can replicate the current designs or use them as the starting-point for their own products.

Customers will also have the option of licensing the complete software solutions available for the target applications from UDTech.

Since its inception in 1999, UDTech has developed a wide range of high-quality custom products for networking, telecom, and consumer applications serving major OEM customers in China and Japan.

UDTech's engineering team offers additional support with their strong expertise in hardware design and software development for markets such as VoIP systems, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, videophones, IP PBXs and media gateways.

'We are delighted to announce this strategic partnership with UDTech', said Sam Fuller, Vice President of Marketing at AMCC.

'This partnership is a key element of our strategy to provide comprehensive hardware/software solutions for high-volume embedded applications'.

'UDTech's support will enhance our position as an industry-leading provider of 32bit embedded solutions'.

'This partnership will further enable our customers to develop leading-edge products based around our solutions'.

'Customers around the world rely on UDTech and AMCC for dependable technology solutions', said John Liu, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at UD Technology Co.

'This strategic partnership will leverage our strengths, translating into increased efficiency and flexibility for customers developing PowerPC-based products'.

AMCC and UDTech expect to introduce the first evaluation kit in spring 2006.
