Design eases home powerline communications
Home audio/video networking and audio sender reference designs feature innovative "no-new-wire" audio/video streaming using existing wiring infrastructure.
AverLogic Technologies Corp announces the launch of its home audio/video (AV) networking and audio sender reference designs, featuring innovative "no-new-wire" audio/video streaming using existing wiring infrastructure.
The company will showcase these reference designs at Electronica 2006, in Hall A5, Stand 476.
A fundamental change is happening with consumer video applications - video is becoming digital and networked.
People now receive digital video content throughout their homes and while they are on the road.
Says Kyle Chang, CEO of AverLogic Technologies: "With AverLogic audio/video streaming solutions through home network using existing infrastructure, you can view video virtually from different locations in the house".
AverLogic's home AV networking reference designs can distribute the A/V contents of DVD/VCD/VCR players and digital set-top-boxes (STB) to LCD and plasma TVs in remote rooms using powerline communications (PLC) technology.
This enables one-to-one audio/video streaming as well as broadcast audio and video over a home's existing power lines.
Adds Chang: "One reference design includes a transmitter module (Tx module), and a receiver module (Rx module)".
"Both modules have Ethernet interface which can be connected to major brands of Ethernet to PLC bridges to demo the home-networking via PLC.
The second reference design comes with embedded PLC adapters in the TX and RX modules".
"This solution is enabled by AverLogic's chipset consisting of AV network controllers, AL9M802, an MPEG-4/2 encoder, AL9V576, and a video decoder, AL242".
"This platform is a base where all topologies of AV distribution network start from".
AverLogic is also unveiling its reference design for an audio sender at Electronica.
The reference design sends DVD/CD player, MP3, audio sender, i-Pod, and Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) sources to speakers, and streams uncompressed audio files; audio resolution can be up to 24bit, and sampling rate up to 96kHz.
AverLogic's new audio sender reference design guarantees stable audio streaming by dynamic bandwidth management.
