Network licence eases
boundary scan adoption
AETA, a French telecommunications equipment manufacturer, has deployed Asset InterTech's ScanWorks boundary scan test system in both its design and manufacturing facilities
The two AETA facilities, located 800km apart in Paris and Aix en Provence, share a ScanWorks licence through Asset's unique network licensing arrangement. 'ScanWorks and Asset's local support people were able to help us quickly identify a design problem on one of our circuit boards', explained Gerard Lamar, Technical Director for AETA.

Asset's easy yet powerful ScanWorks boundary-scan test and ISP environment is currently used by leading electronics companies such as Cisco, Lucent, SABCA, Xyratec, Aselsan, Thales, Thompson Grass Valley, Agilent, BAE, Alcatel, HP, Ericsson, Intel, Raytheon, SBS, Solectron and others.
AETA designs, develops and markets access equipment for telecommunications operators, Internet service providers and the enterprise marketplace.
By using Asset's network licensing arrangement, AETA's two facilities can share the ScanWorks licence, deploying it where and when needed.
'On a typical day, the people in our manufacturing facility work with ScanWorks almost all day long', said Lamar.
'But when our design department needs to test or diagnose a prototype, they can access the ScanWorks licence that is available on our private network'.
'The network licensing makes it very convenient and efficient for the entire company'.
'ScanWorks' network licence has proven to be very cost-effective for AETA', said Reg Waller, Asset's European Director.
'Because of their network licence, they can deploy their boundary scan resources wherever they are needed in any company facility that's on their network'.
'In addition, AETA's test personnel have found that ScanWorks provides them with powerful diagnostic tools as well as programming capabilities that are easy to use'.
