A new range of single-supply, rail-to-rail input/output, low-power op amps in space-saving 5-pin SOT-23 packages operates over a variety of bandwidths ranging from 10kHz to 10MHz

Microchip is one of the few suppliers offering SOT-23 packages across this wide bandwidth range. These op amps are pin-compatible, providing a clear migration path to select the proper bandwidth versus supply current. The variety of available bandwidths, the low power operation, and the small packages make these devices ideal for a wide range of applications where space and power are critical.

The rail-to-rail inputs/outputs increase the dynamic range and maximise overall performance, which is especially critical for low-voltage applications.

Other features within the range include an extended temperature range of -40 to +125C, a low operating voltage (down to 1.4V), and a chip-select pin, which further reduces power consumption when not in use.

To assist the design process, Microchip provides the FilterLab Active Filter Software Design tool and Spice simulation models at no cost from the Company's website.

The FilterLab software gives users full schematic diagrams of the filter circuit with component values, and displays the frequency response.

In addition to the SOT-23 op amps (eg MCP6001, MCP6231, MCP6293), Microchip makes a variety of complementary products available in SOT-23 packages, including analogue-to-digital convertors (eg MCP3021, MCP3221), microprocessor system supervisors, low-dropout regulators, serial EEPROMs and even microcontrollers.

The SOT-23 op amps are available today for sampling and volume production.
