EEPROMs meet latest VESA standard
Microchip has extended its serial EEPROM range with the first device to meet the VESA E-EDID 1.3 standard and a new packaging option for low- and mid-density devices
Supporting the VESA E-EDID 1.3 standard for PC monitors, projectors and flat panel displays, the new 24LC22A and 24LCS22A serial EEPROMs offer manufacturers simple, cost-effective alternatives for plug-and-play applications in high-end displays. With a 256 x 8bit dual-mode serial EEPROM, the 24LC22A and 24LCS22A implement both DDC1 and DDC2 operating modes.

LDO cuts power for long-term standby
Power-saving low-dropout regulator is ideal for applications requiring long battery runtimes and high tolerance for input-voltage variations
The devices also support the new VESA E-EDID monitor specification for next-generation displays.
Additional features include an I2C-compatible two-wire serial interface and a wide operating range of 2.5 to 5.5V.
These devices are packaged in standard 8-lead PDIP and SOIC.
Microchip's 24LCXXB and 24AAXX series of serial EEPROMs now have an additional SOT-23 package option that is 72% smaller than 8-lead SOIC devices.
This new generation of 5-lead SOT-23 I2C serial EEPROMs was designed using Microchip's advanced PMOS electrically erasable cell process technology.
With a low operating voltage down to 2.5V, active current of 1mA and standby current of 1uA, 24LCXXB devices are ideal for space constrained applications.
For battery-powered applications, the 24AAXX family supports operation down to 1.8V.
Microchip's 5-lead SOT-23 I2C serial EEPROMs range in densities from 128bit through 16Kbit.
