Pocket video camera utilises Ambarella SoC
Ambarella has announced that its HD hybrid camera system-on-chip (SoC) has been utilised in the third-generation Creative Vado HD pocket video camera.
Ambarella's H.264's video compression and image processing pipeline, low-power design and flexible software architecture are claimed to make it an ideal partner for Creative to enable the Vado HD.
The Vado HD video camera is powered by the Ambarella A2S chip.
An Ambarella processor supports manual exposure adjustments to handle low-light or brightly-lit conditions, as well as a motion detection mode for recording as soon as motion is sensed.
With improved H.264 compression and low-power features, the Vado HD can hold up to 120 minutes of HD video in 4GB of onboard memory.
