Apcon has completed a $3.7 million sale to IBM Global Services.
IBM plans to use the products and services purchased from Apcon in a test-lab network it is installing for a major New York based financial services customer.
The sale represents another milestone for Apcon, which has been doing exceedingly well over the last year.
The company continues to grow, introduce new products regularly, and take on bigger and more pervasive applications.
"IBM's order and subsequent installation is proof that even in a slow economy, companies continue to invest in new technologies, products and networks", said Richard Rauch, Apcon CEO and President.
"Our IntellaPatch switches help our customers get their products to market faster and at a reduced cost.
And we continue to offer innovative products to accelerate the deployment of new technologies".
Apcon, a privately owned company, noted nearly 80% growth in sales in 2002.
Expecting another banner year, the company introduced five new products in the first two quarters of 2003, including a leading-edge 10-Gigabit Ethernet/Fibre Channel switch.
The sale to IBM includes IntellaPatch physical layer switches for use in a complex multi-tiered test-lab network.
Apcon products will be used to automate the test network and enable "on the fly" reconfiguration, integrating both gigabit ethernet and sonet technologies running at variety of datarates.
