Test platforms provide an easy and highly accurate method for conducting RF, demodulation and over-the-air measurements on WiMAX signals.

Anritsu has come up with the first Mobile WiMAX handheld test solution specifically designed for deploying, installing, and maintaining Mobile WiMAX networks Incorporated into Anritsu's award-winning BTS Master and Spectrum Master platforms, the Mobile WiMAX test capability provides field engineers, technicians and contractors with an easy and highly accurate method for conducting RF, demodulation and over-the-air (OTA) measurements on WiMAX signals

The Mobile WiMAX measurement capability has been designed into three options to provide users with flexibility when configuring their instrument.

The Mobile WiMAX RF Measurements option can be used to measure the transmitted signal strength and signal shape of a transmitter.

When configured with the RF Measurement option, the handheld analysers can conduct channel spectrum, power versus time (with 5 and 10ms frame lengths), and ACPR measurements.

RF summary screens can also be displayed with the option.

Engineers and technicians can use the Mobile WiMAX demodulator to analyse OFDMA signals and display detailed measurements for evaluating transmitter modulation performance.

The measurement screens that can be displayed are constellation (QPSK, 16 QAM, 64 QAM), spectral flatness, EVM versus subcarrier, EVM versus symbol, DL MAP with automatic decoding, and modulation summary.

A channel power monitor measurement is part of the Mobile WiMAX OTA option and allows a specific channel's power over time and specified interval to be analysed.

This feature can be combined with a GPS feature so that measurement data can include GPS location and time data for plotting on a map.

Anritsu's powerful Master Software Tools enables easy integration into MapInfo Professional and Microsoft MapPoint maps.

All the options can be used with the MT8222A BTS Master, and the Spectrum Master MS2721B, MS2723B and MS2724B analysers.

Weighing less than nine pounds, the MT8222A is the smallest, lightest, and most economical handheld solution for complete 2G/3G/4G basestation testing.

The MS2721B, MS2723B and MS2724B are the most advanced ultraportable 7.1, 13 and 20GHz spectrum analysers on the market.

Their broad frequency coverage and excellent sensitivity, coupled with a wide selection of resolution bandwidths, make the MS272xB series well suited for the most challenging field environments.

The introduction of the Mobile WiMAX test and analysis capability continues Anritsu's commitment to providing test solutions designed to expedite the deployment of new technologies.

Anritsu introduced the world's first handheld Fixed WiMAX test solution earlier this year.

Anritsu also has test solutions that can be used during the design and manufacture of WiMAX devices and systems.
