Test and measurement specialist participates in the public mobile WiMAX Forum PlugFest, an interoperability showcase held in Malaga, Spain

Anritsu Company was one of the participants in the recently completed second public mobile WiMAX Forum PlugFest, an interoperability showcase hosted by AT4 wireless Labs in Malaga, Spain. Anritsu's Signature MS2781B, MG3700A vector signal generator, and BTS Master MT8222A handheld base station analyser were included in the PlugFest.

The PlugFest provides Mobile WiMAX equipment suppliers an open environment in which to test compatibility and interoperability of equipment in preparation for certification.

Interoperability is the foundation of standardisation and the core tenet of the WiMAX Forum's efforts.

Certification of Wave 1 mobile WiMAX products is scheduled to begin in mid 2007, with market availability of WiMAX Forum Certified mobile products beginning in late 2007.

'With more than 30 companies participating in this latest mobile WiMAX Forum PlugFest, there is strong momentum and a clear commitment by the WiMAX ecosystem', says Ron Resnick, President and Chairman of the WiMAX Forum.

'By the contributions of Anritsu and the other PlugFest participants, these WiMAX Forum interoperability events continue to show a significant leap ahead with maturity of mobile WIMAX products'.

'Additionally, the experience gained at these PlugFests is critical to improve quality of interoperability testing and to maintain our accelerated path to WiMAX Forum Certification'.

'Anritsu has a strong commitment to the WiMAX technology and is developing test solutions that will help bring WiMAX products to market faster', says Donn Mulder, General Manager of Anritsu Company.

'We will continue to be active in the WiMAX Forum and working with our customers so that the promise of WiMAX is fulfilled'.
