Ruby anniversary for Analog Devices
Analog Devices has reached its 40th anniversary, celebrating four decades of technology innovation, company growth, and industry leadership
Analog Devices' cofounder and Chairman, Ray Stata, and President and CEO, Jerald G Fishman, will observe the milestone by kicking off a series of events to recognise the thousands of employees who contribute to the company's success and to reinforce Analog Devices' commitment to providing its customers with high-performance analogue and digital signal processing solutions in the decades to come.

Stata and Fishman, joined by several Analog Devices employees from around the world, commemorated the anniversary by ringing yesterday's opening bell to commence trading on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
In Massachusetts, where Analog Devices' was founded in 1965 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduates Ray Stata and Matthew Lorber, the Massachusetts Legislature issued House and Senate citations noting the company's many technological achievements and contributions to the state's high-tech economy.
Additionally, State and Congressional resolutions acknowledging Analog Devices as one of the semiconductor industry's first and most resilient companies will be presented at a special ceremony on 3rd February in Massachusetts.

Other events throughout the year include the Annual Meeting of Stockholders on 8th March, the anniversary of the company's initial public offering on 12th March, the ADI Global Technology Conference in May, and the establishment of a new Founder's Award to recognise outstanding achievements by Analog Devices' employees.
'The bedrock on which Analog Devices was built 40 years ago is our core competency designing chips to process and transmit real-world data very quickly, with a high degree of accuracy and using very little power', said Stata.
'These competitive advantages served us well through our first three decades, when applications that demanded this level of performance were largely based in the defence, aerospace and industrial sectors'.
'Over the past 10 years, the same requirements of speed, accuracy, and low power have expanded rapidly into applications as varied as automotive safety systems, digital still cameras, Internet-enabled set-top boxes, and mobile communications devices'.
'With our heritage of design excellence, Analog Devices is better positioned than any company in the industry to serve this growing base of customers for whom a well engineered signal chain is a competitive necessity', said Fishman.
'We believe that the greatest growth opportunities for revenue, profits and market share still lie ahead of us, as we capitalise on the post-PC era's shift to applications that blend aspects of mobile communications, consumer multimedia and portable computing'.
Complementing its focus on specific emerging applications, Analog Devices also serves a broad breadth of more than 60,000 customers worldwide with a portfolio of more than 10,000 products.
The company has also pursued a global business strategy since its days as a startup in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and was the first company to establish an integrated circuit manufacturing presence in Ireland.
Today, ADI operates Ireland's largest semiconductor R and D centre in Limerick and has manufacturing and product design facilities in 12 countries.
An early entrant to the Asia Pacific marketplace, Analog Devices has made significant investments in the region, which now account for more than half of the company's annual revenue.
