They operate from a single 5V supply, contain an on-chip 2.25V reference, and feature a flexible serial interface that allows a glueless connection to a variety of DSPs, S/PDIF receivers and sample-rate convertors.
They also feature a time division multiplex (TDM) mode and daisychaining to allow up to 16 channels to be driven from a single DSP serial port.
The devices differ in that the AD1835 and AD1837 contain eight DACs, whereas the AD1838 and AD1839 contain six DACs.
Also, the AD1835 and AD1838 have differential outputs, whereas the AD1837 and AD1839 have Single-ended outputs.
All models contain two differential-input ADCs.
These four codecs, in conjunction with the previously announced AD1836 (six DACs and four ADCs), now provide the industry with the widest range of high- performance, multichannel codecs on the market.
The AD1835 is priced at $9.04 per unit, the AD1837 at $8.81 per unit, the AD1838 at $8.70 per unit and the AD1839 at $8.48 per unit, each in 1000-piece quantities.
All are housed in a pin-compatible 52-lead MQFP package, operate within the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85C, and are available as samples now.
