King rules at AMI Semiconductor
AMI Semiconductor (AMIS) has named Christine King as president and CEO
King most recently managed IBM's multi-billion-dollar semiconductor products business, which was the fastest growing business at IBM in the first quarter of this year. In addition, she launched IBM's OEM ASIC business in 1993, growing it to the number one ASIC business in the world by 1999.

"Acquiring a CEO with Chris' excellent qualifications is a real coup for AMIS", said Dipanjan Deb, AMIS board member and partner of Francisco Partners, a major AMIS investor.
"Her outstanding relationships with ASIC customers throughout the industry - including some existing AMIS customers - will be a tremendous asset for AMIS immediately and in the future".
"I am very excited to have the opportunity to lead AMIS into what I am sure will be a very bright future", said King.
"AMI Semiconductor's ability to provide the industry with effective highly integrated semiconductor solutions is truly impressive.
Their undisputed technology and market leadership in conversion ASICs and significant technology edge in mixed-signal ASICs give me great ammunition for further strategic growth".
Building off of her experience in ASICs, King also launched IBM's networking technology semiconductor business and previously served as vice president of field engineering programs and global marketing.
Prior to those positions, King held various engineering positions at IBM.
