Alpha Micro Components has signed an agreement with American fabless semiconductor startup, Luminary Micro to distribute its new range of products within the UK

Launching on 27th March 2006, Luminary Micro's new range of ARM architecture-based system-on-chip (SoC) products, are set to revolutionise the microprocessor market. Jean Anne Booth, Chief Marketing Officer, Luminary Micro, said: 'When looking for a distribution partner in the UK, Alpha Micro was our natural choice'.

'Not only do they have an excellent technical team, enabling them to bring OEM products to market sooner but they are also skilled in demand creation'.

'Our new range of products are based on the ARM architecture; it was therefore essential that our UK partner had a thorough knowledge of the technology as well as an understanding of how it can be used with industry specific and embedded applications'.

Christos Papakyriacou, Managing Director, Alpha Micro Components commented: 'Luminary Micro's new range of SoC products are set to change how microprocessors are received and we are pleased to be involved in its launch in the UK'.

'Our role within this process will not just be to introduce the company to market, but to carve out a niche for it within the industry'.

'We believe that our years of experience in the field of electronics will be instrumental in doing this'.
