The Envisium mid-power family of light-emitting diodes has won an EE Times Ultimate Products award.

Agilent Technologies' Envisium mid-power family of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) has won this quarter's EE Times Ultimate Products award in the interconnect, passive and electromechanical components (IPand E) category The Envisium Power PLCC-4 (plastic leaded chip carrier), jointly developed by Agilent and Lumileds Lighting, is a surface-mount LED designed for automotive exterior lighting, such as centre high-mounted stoplights, front turn signals, rear combination turn, tail and stoplights, and mirror turn signals

Agilent's Envisium LED family was rated the highest among the 10 products chosen by EE Times' readers in the IPand E components award category, based on its technical significance and likelihood of use.

"We are delighted that the Envisium mid-power family of LEDs has won this prestigious award", said Lee Soo Ghee, Vice President and General Manager for the Optoelectronic Products Division in Agilent's Semiconductor Products Group.

"The superior performance and industry-best luminous output of our Envisium LEDs make them ideally suited for today's automotive lighting applications".

"Agilent's Envisium Power PLCC-4 LEDs fill the gap for mid-power illumination capabilities because of their excellent performance attributes", said Gina Roos, IPand E Sections Editor at eeProductcentre.

"The innovative use of LED die and packaging allows Envisium LEDs to deliver high reliability under extended temperatures ranging between -40 and +100C, which is critical for many exterior lighting applications".

The Ultimate Products award is a product peer-review programme developed by EE Times and eeProductcentre.

Each quarter the editors of eeProductcentre select the 10 most significant new products in seven categories.

Those products are then rated by engineers in the field.

Ratings are based on technical significance and how likely the engineer would use the product. Request free introductory details about products from Avago Technologies ...
