Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
Agilent's new PCI Express serdes core is optimised for storage and networking switch chips and PC core logic chipsets.
"The addition of our PCI Express serdes core offers customers a proven, fast time-to-market ASIC solution", said James Stewart, Vice President and General Manager of the ASIC Products Division in Agilent's Semiconductor Products Group.
"Agilent is unique in the industry because only it can provide the entire PCI Express solution, from chip design through manufacturing and production test of the system-level product".
The Agilent PCI Express serdes core meets the PCI Express specification, operates at 250MHz, and offers 1-, 2-, 4-, 8- and 16-lane configurations.
It complements the PCI Express link and physical coding sublayer (PCS) cores in the company's IP library.
In addition to storage, networking and computing applications, Agilent's link core has been integrated into two Agilent test instruments used for compliance testing at PCI Special Interest Group (SIG) compliance workshops.
Agilent also offers the industry's lowest-cost test solution, the 93000 SoC test system for high-speed PCI Express-based devices.
Agilent's embedded serdes ASIC development model provides support throughout the entire product life cycle.
It incorporates testing capabilities as early as the definition of system-level architecture and accounts for in-circuit manufacturing test, functional test, system turn-on and debug and field diagnostics.
With this model, Agilent enables OEMs to develop high-bandwidth networking, storage and computing systems with superior reliability and reduced size, complexity and cost. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
