Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
Two versions of the Agilent HSDL-3005 IR transceiver are available: front view (optics are in the top of the package for IR transmission/reception via the front or back of a handheld device) and side view (optics are on the side of the package for IR transmission/reception via the edge of a handheld device).
The front view package is 8.0 x 2.5 x 3.0mm, and the side-view version is 7.50 x 2.80 x 3.35mm.
The HSDL-3005 has a flexible programming mode to enable easy software programming.
Agilent's complementary HSDL-S300 application software is a universal remote control program with a predefined remote control database and a self-teach/learn mode.
The software incorporates profiles for TV, DVD, VCR, air conditioning, CD, audio, LD/VCD (laser disk/video compact disk) and other home appliances.
Each profile can have up to 10 sets of device controls, and so 80 home appliance devices can be stored (eight profiles for 10 devices).
Each device can have up to 32 buttons/functions, which can be controlled via either the mobile's touch screen or keypad buttons.
The Agilent HSDL-3005 IR transceiver achieves its low cost and compact size through the use of a single, high-power 883nm wavelength LED for IrDA and remote control operation, rather than providing a separate 875nm emitter for IrDA and 940nm emitter for remote control.
The HSDL-3005 IR transceiver is compliant with IrDA Physical Layer version 1.4 low-power standards and operates at SIR datarates from 9.6 to 115.2Kbit/s.
Its combination of very low idle current of less than 100uA and shutdown current of 10nA (both typical) helps extend battery life in mobile devices.
The device also provides LED stuck-high protection and is capable of operating with power sources ranging from 2.4 to 3.6V.
All Agilent IR transceivers are IEC825 Class 1 compliant.
The Agilent HSDL-3005 IrDA/remote control transceiver is available now through Agilent's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
