Adlink Technology has released an RoHS-compliant 3U 19-slot PXI chassis: the PXIS-2719.

This 19-slot PXI chassis features one system slot and eighteen peripheral slots, an innovative cooling mechanism, a flexible rack-mounting design, and smart chassis management for both bench-top and rack-mount test and measurement applications.

The Adlink PXIS-2719 features a design for even and efficient heat dissipation: the fans are located in the rear section of the chassis to pull cool air in from the bottom, though the PXI modules, and out the rear.

This design provides uniform air flow between slots with only a maximum 10 per cent difference in temperature measured on load boards during testing.

When this chassis is installed in a rack, this cooling design significantly minimises the drawing in of hot air from the rear area of the rack where all other devices exhaust to maintain a steady temperature inside the chassis.

The PXIS-2719 also includes a smart chassis management feature.

Fan speed is controlled automatically based on the internal temperature or manually through user input.

Chassis temperature, fan speed, and system voltages are continually self-monitored to ensure system stability.

The PXIS-2719 also supports remote management by sending chassis status to designated systems via a standard RS-232 port and allowing remote power on/off control through the use of software commands.

An optional rack-mount kit is also included with the chassis.

This kit allows the chassis to be recessed up to 10cm in a cabinet rack to accommodate multiple wires/connectors or mass interconnect modules.
