CompactPCI subsystem keeps
it cool for comms
New from Adlink Technology, the cPCIS-6125 is a thin all-in-one communication computing subsystem built around the recently introduced line of blade servers
The cPCIS-6125 is a 1U high by 9.5in deep, 19in rack-mount chassis especially equipped with dual cooling systems to handle the toughest of bandwidth demands and data intensive applications such as network and high-density blade server applications, enterprise servers, VoIP and portals. The system is designed to meet the requirements for fast time to market solutions with high reliability, flexibility and scalability in mind.

Installation and upgrades for the cPCIS-6125 are accomplished by plugging in two single-slot (combination of computer and I/O card) or one dual slot CompactPCI 6U high computer board, supplying different expansion paths allows us to meet the demanding scalable applications involving subsystems expectations of NEPs and system integrators (SI) of service providers as a complete full functioning blade server, switch, router, firewall, gateway and stackable Internet, media, QoS management and cache server.
The rear mounted keyboard, mouse, and 9-pin serial port connectors further enhance the user's ability to configure and monitor the system.
Furthermore, rear accessible standard 40-pin EIDE and 34-pin FDD interfaces on the rear side of the backplane allows easy operating system installation and applications since users can directly connect the CD-Rom and floppy disk drive.

This creative design relieves the everyday headache software programmers and system integrators have when working on software development and system integration with traditional CompactPCI platforms.
The cooling system is uniquely designed to dissipate heat generated by high-speed CPUs, onboard fixed disk storage and RAM.
Two cooling fans seated along side the 6U cPCI card draws air through a ventilation vent from the front drawing cool air through and over the processor and board.
At the rear, the cPCIS-6125 has two ventilating fans to continue the airflow out the backside of the chassis.
The built-in 200W industrial grade power supply, compartmentalised separately, is equipped with separate cooling fans.
Depending on the cPCI cards installed, the cPCIS-6125 can have added features by using the connections on the front for networking, storage and other scalable stacking functions.
Optimal configurations include either one cPCI-6760D with an I/O card or the cPCI-6780 series, dual-slot 1.26GHz SBC.
