Typical applications that use the Nucleus USB Host Power class driver are mission critical ones that require battery backup and energy conservation in the event of power failure.
These systems rely on a UPS to provide protection due to power surges, spikes, lightning and other power disturbances.
A UPS also supplies needed power to critical applications when utility power is unavailable.
Because USB offers a simple plug-and play interface, higher data transfer rates and greater flexibility in terms of hot-swapping, it is rapidly being adopted by UPS Systems to streamline and standardize ways for an electronic system to manage an uninterruptible power supply.
This includes controlling power quality and automating backup and shutdown procedures for supplying needed power and preserving energy.
The Nucleus USB Host Power class driver enables embedded electronics systems to use and manage UPS systems that are USB Power Device Class compliant via a USB connection.
The Nucleus USB Host Power class driver has been released for use with Nucleus USB Host stack, which is both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 compliant.
The Nucleus embedded software is licensed with source code and without royalty fees.
Available now, licences for the Nucleus USB software start at US $14,995 and licences for the class drivers begin at US $2995.
